Dinner For Two
When it comes to Valentine's Day dinner dates, let's be honest, it isn't what we eat,
where we eat, or even how we eat it that makes the night special.  The most important
aspect of the evening is the mood that is created by the date.  If you want to make a
special romantic dinner this Valentine's Day, stress less about the menu and
concentrate more on the surroundings.  While serving tasty food is a must, don't
overlook the presentation as you strive to create a romantic night.

Once the menu is set, think about where you would like to serve it.  Get creative as
you think about location.  There is no rule that says dinner has to be served at the
dining room table and if your only table is in the kitchen, you must find a different place
to eat, so that you aren't whispering romantic words into your partners ear as he sits
staring at a sink full of pots and pans.

This year serve dinner in the backyard or a balcony if you have one.  If you live in a
tall building, see if you can use the roof.  Place a table in front of your living room
fireplace or if you are really daring, serve dinner in the bedroom.  Plan a lavish spread
at a local park or even have a picnic in your car.

Once you have decided where to serve your special dinner, turn to that task of
decorating.  Be liberal with candles and fresh flowers.  Scatter rose petals on the floor
and hang twinkle lights around the room.  Write out a menu on pretty paper and leave
it on the table.  Serve your meal in courses, dishing it up for your loved one and
bringing it to the table.  Don't forget to decorate each dish with elegant garnishes.

Music makes the mood, so pick your songs carefully. Understated, instrumental music
is best suited for dinner conversation, but you might want to have some of your
favorite songs on hand in the mood to dance happens to strike!  Lighting is just as
important as music Make sure that it is dim enough to appreciate the candles but not
so dim that you can't enjoy gazing at each other.

If you have children at home, put them to work as waiters and waitresses.  Let them
serve the food and regulate the music.  Even young children will love getting involved
in your romantic night and take pleasure in seeing Mom and Dad enjoying each other's
company.

Relax and enjoy your special night.  And to make things truly perfect, don't worry about
the dishes until morning.
